The story of this small kitchen remodel in German Village landed in HouseTrends magazine in 2020.
To begin the update of this historic shotgun style home, we reconfigured the layout and extended the kitchen into an unused back hallway.
As with many historic homes, creating a fresher, more functional space often requires maximizing storage and adding modern amenities in ways that complement original features of the home. Cleverly hidden appliances provide modern convenience without detracting from the overall design of the space. Tiered silverware drawers keep utensils tucked away but within easy reach. By mixing off-white, quarter sawn oak and dark green we achieved a rich and comfortable look. Gold light fixtures, cork flooring and bluetooth undercabinet lighting deliver finishing touches in this clever new kitchen.
